Please read this Privacy Policy carefully and contact me if you have any questions. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, please refrain from using my site.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. You can browse my website without entering any personal information. However, different regulations may apply to the use of individual services of my site, which are explained separately below. Your personal information is collected, processed and used only in accordance with the existing legal provisions.

As almost all websites do, my website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are downloaded and stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive so it can recognize your device in the future. Cookies help me analyse data about web page traffic and improve my website. They will not harm your computer. However, if you do not wish to receive cookies, you can control how your web browser deals with them by changing your browser settings. You can prevent cookies from being installed and remove any cookies already stored on your computer. For more information see your browser’s help function.

Server Log Files

My website is hosted by domainfactory GmbH on servers located in Strasbourg, France. When you visit my website, my provider automatically collects information which your internet browser transmits to its servers (so called server log files). These server logs include information such as your browser type and browser version, your operating system, the website you came from (referrer URL), the host name of the accessing computer, the date and time of your visit, the retrieved files and quantity of transmitted data, as well as your IP address. However, I am using the settings “Do not create log files”, so your data will be deleted immediately after leaving my website.

Use of Google Analytics with Anonymization

My website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA (Google). Google Analytics sets cookies in order to evaluate your use of and compile reports for me on your activity. This helps me understand how you engage with the content of my website. The information generated by these cookies is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
Google is certified under the US-EU data privacy agreement “Privacy Shield” and is hence obliged to meet the EU data privacy requirements.
My website uses Google Analytics with an IP anonymization feature. That means that your IP address is previously truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is a full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there.
Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of my website. Furthermore, you can prevent the logging of cookie based data that tracks your use of my site, including your IP-address, by Google as well as the processing of this data through Google by installing the browser plugin that is available at the following link:
To learn more about how Google collects and processes your data, please consult the company’s Privacy Policy. By using my website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Contacting Me

If you wish to contact me, either by email or using my contact form, the personal data provided by you will only be stored for the purpose of answering your enquiry and any follow-up questions. I need at least your e-mail address so that I know where to send my response and would really appreciate if you could also provide me with your name so that I know who I speak to. Feel free to use your first name only, initials, or a pseudonym if you are uncomfortable with providing your real name. Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties without your express consent.

My website offers you the opportunity to suscribe to my newsletter. The newsletter is sent on a semi-regular basis and provides you with information about my ongoing artistic projects, future exhibitions or any other art-related content.
If you wish to receive my newsletter, I require your first and last name -once again, feel free to enter initials, or a pseudonym, if you don’t want to use your real name- and a valid email address. In order to verify that you are the legitimate owner of the specified email address and to ensure that you gave express consent to receive my newsletter, I employ the double opt-in method for registration. That means that after you have requested to register for my newsletter, you will receive an email in return. This email contains a link which you must click to confirm your initial request. Your registration and confirmation will be recorded so I have proof, according to the legal requirements, of the permission that you gave me to send you my newsletter. Please note that my newsletter service provider MailChimp automatically collects and stores your IP address. Unfortunately, I have no influence on that.
You may unsubscribe from my newsletter at any time. You can do so either by using the unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of each newsletter, by sending me an email, or directly by clicking this link: UNSUBSCRIBE.

Newsletter – Service Provider

I use the services of MailChimp for creating and sending my newsletter. MailChimp is an email address management and message sending service provided by The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308 USA.
When you register for my newsletter, your data (your name, email address, country, IP address, as well as time and date of registration) is sent to the servers operated by The Rocket Science Group in the United States. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data privacy agreement “Privacy Shield” and is hence obliged to meet the EU data privacy requirements. Furthermore, I have signed a data processing agreement with MailChimp. This is a contract in which MailChimp guarantees to protect the data of my newsletter recipients, to process it in accordance with its privacy policy on my behalf and, in particular, not to disclose it to third parties.
By signing up for my newsletter, you agree that I may pass on your personal data to MailChimp. MailChimp won’t, under any circumstances, sell your data, contact you, market to you, steal your data, or share it with any other party, unless it’s required by law. For more information please consult MailChimp’s Privacy Policy.
All personal details relating to subscriptions are stored on a secure MailChimp server. You may request a copy of personal information held about you at any time. To do so, please contact me through my contact form or send me an email.

Newsletter – Tracking

Email newsletters may contain tracking facilities within the actual email. Subscriber activity is tracked and stored in a MailChimp database for future analysis and evaluation. Such tracked activity may include the opening of emails, forwarding of emails, the clicking of links within the email content, times, dates and frequency of activity (this is by no far a comprehensive list). This information is used to refine future email campaigns and supply you with more relevant content. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, I do not review this data at individual level, only as aggregated scores.

SSL Encryption

In order to ensure secure transmission of your personal data, my website uses SSL encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection in your browser’s address line when it changes from “http://” to “https://” and the lock icon in your browser line is visible. If SSL encryption is activated, the data that you send via my website cannot be read by third parties.

Google Webfonts

For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser makes a direct connection with Google servers, loading the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly. Google thus becomes aware that my web page was accessed via your IP address. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer. Further information about handling user data, can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Right to Access, Rectify, Block, Delete Data and to Object any Processing

You have the right to request a copy of the information I hold about you at any time, to have any inaccurate information corrected or any part or all of your data blocked or deleted. Also, if you have given consent to the processing of your data, you can withdraw this at any time. To do so, please contact me through my contact form or send me an email. Please note that I will maintain personal data in my database whenever I am required to do so by law.

Amendment of this Privacy Statement

Due to the open nature of the Internet and to changes in legal or regulatory requirements, it may be necessary to amend this Privacy Statement from time to time, and you should regularly check this privacy statement for any amendments.
